More than two thousand students are ready to hit the books today. Today is the start of the Kanawha County Schools summer academy. The federally funded program is free to all students. The goal is to provide an opportunity to catch up on studies that were disrupted due to the COVID pandemic over the past two years. Classes wrap up at the end of the month. It’s not all work, and no play. Fun enrichment activities are included, like ice cream socials and field trips.
