COVID cases continue to climb in West Virginia. There are more than three-thousand active cases of the virus statewide. The positivity rate is over eight-percent, and most of the state is in “yellow” on DHHR’s COVID alert map. The rapid increase is being blamed on the new BA.5 variant. Nationwide, BA.5 now accounts for seven out of every 10 cases of COVID.
