Charleston Area Medical Center is Requiring Masks Again

CAMC Health System announced that effective immediately everyone must wear a mask at all times in all Charleston Area Medical Center facilities. The tweet from the health system said the mask wearing policy applies to all non-patient care areas such as hospital lobbies, waiting rooms, cafeterias, elevators, stairwells and common halls/corridors. he announcement comes as some key COVID numbers in the state have been climbing. Hospitalizations related to COVID-19 in West Virginia have once again topped 300 and active cases are more than 2,000. New COVID variants, labeled BA.4 and BA.5, are offshoots of the omicron strain that has been been responsible for nearly all of the virus spread in the U.S. and are even more contagious than their predecessors.
