Deputies Are Investigating Illegal Mason County Dump Site

Mason County deputies are asking the public for help in identifying suspects after they said an illegal dump with about 8,000 pounds of shingles, plywood, trash and other building materials was discovered. The dump was found June 30 on Guyan Creek Road, about one quarter mile from the intersection with Whitten Ridge and Meadow Hollow roads, according to a news release from the Mason County Sheriff’s Office. The DOH and Mason County litter control worked to have the site cleaned up. The sheriff’s office said there is a vehicle and trailer of interest — a red Dodge Dually extended cab pickup up with a loud exhaust, possibly with tinted windows. It was hauling a newer Fifth Wheel dump trailer with high sides in the area at the time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mason County litter control officer, at 304-593-0329.
