Raleigh County Suspect Shot and Killed by Officers

West Virginia State Police said a suspect who fled in a stolen vehicle following a crash in Raleigh County was shot and killed by officers after a brief standoff when he was waving a handgun. State Police said an armed suspect fled from a crash Wednesday off of Dry Hill Road in a stolen truck, but was found at Big Lots near the Raleigh Mall. The suspect refused to stop and a pursuit traveled into Fayette County and back into the Bradley area of Raleigh County. State Police said the pursuit ended when the vehicle became disabled off of Route 19 in Bradley. The suspect left the vehicle and was engaged by law enforcement officers. During a short standoff, the suspect waved a handgun and the suspect was shot and killed by officers, State Police said. The investigation into the incident continues.
