The Charleston Sternwheel Regatta returned this summer after a 14-year absence and was a resounding economic success, and now organizers have announced the event will be back next year. In 2023, the festival will take place Friday, June 30, through Tuesday, July 4th. Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin said city organizer have spent the past several weeks talking to the Regatta Commission, vendors, FestivALL, and the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau in making plans for next year. Regatta’s return this summer had a more than $31.5 million economic impact and attracted an estimated 210,000 attendees.
