Marshall University has plans to add parking near the Joan C. Edward Stadium this fall. There are plans to demolish an old church located in the 2000 block of 5th Avenue that the university bought in 2017 and they’ll use the space to expand parking. First it will be a gravel lot, and it will be paved after this football season. University officials said the building has been declared unsafe, so the decision was made to demolish it.
