A company plans to invest at least $5 million in a manufacturing facility in the Northern Panhandle to manufacture electric pontoon boats and to eventually create 100 full-time jobs. Pure Watercraft, a leading producer of electric boats, will locate an operation in an 80,000-square-foot production facility at the Beech Bottom Industrial Park in Beech Bottom in Brooke County. Gov. Jim Justice in a news release that the revitalized former steel plant is located on the banks of the Ohio River and the facility will produce the Pure Pontoon Boat, which is being developed in collaboration with strategic investor General Motors. The facility is expected to employ 100 full-time workers by the end of 2025.
