Investigation Into Woman’s Death Continues After Her Stolen Credit Card is Used

Investigators said a man accused of using a stolen credit card in Kanawha County lived at the same home where a body was found in a freezer in August. According to court documents, deputies found Cynthia Mudd dead inside of a freezer at her Cross Lanes home. A criminal complaint said Mudd’s credit card had also been stolen and used to withdraw money at an ATM at the GoMart on Maccorkle Avenue. Fraudulent charges totaling around $1,000 were made. According to that complaint, Arnold Hiller was captured on surveillance video using the stolen card. Hiller lived with Mudd at that Cross Lanes home. Hiller was arrested in Beckley. Mudd’s cause of death has not yet been determined.
