The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is sending out a warning about a phone scam impersonating their office. Residents are getting a call from someone claiming to be with the sheriff’s office, and then tell the victim they’ve missed jury duty and owe several hundred dollars in fines and ask for a debit or credit card. Deputies will never call you and ask for payment information over the phone.
