Police are investigating after a masked man attempted to rob the Family Dollar store on MacCorkle Avenue at gunpoint Sunday night. The robber ran away before police got there. Employees told police the man walked up to the counter, pulled out a gun and demanded money, but the employee refused, and the man left the store. Police officers with South Charleston and Charleston searched the Spring Hill area but didn’t find the man. They’re examining DNA samples left on the counter and checking surveillance cameras for clues. Anyone with anyone information is asked to call South Charleston Police Department.
