Officials break ground on new Jackson County plant

State leaders and company executives broke ground Saturday on a $500 million manufacturing site in Jackson County for a new titanium melt facility that will manufacture products for aerospace and other industries. Titanium Metals has plans to construct the facility that is expected to generate about 200 jobs, according to the DNR. Our Next Energy plans to build an Aries Grid factory on site, bringing an additional $22 million to the project and generate another 105 jobs. The factory will build utility-scale battery storage systems and is expected to open in 2025. The Ravenswood facility will be constructed on the property of the former Century Aluminum plant.
