PSC sets a hearing date for Appalachian Power Co. transmission substation location

A public hearing has been scheduled by the West Virginia Public Service Commission in Fayette County over the proposed location of an Appalachian Power Co. transmission substation that is being challenged. The hearing is set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at a Hawks Nest State Park Lodge conference room, according to a news release from the PSC. A challenge by customers alleges that the substation along U.S. Route 60 near the Victor Post Office was being improperly constructed without permission from the commission. The PSC said an alternate site has been proposed.
