Appalachian Power and Wheeling Power are making a request to recover costs connected to renewable energy projects. The filed a request with the Public Service Commission that includes purchasing a wind facility in Ohio and seven solar facilities. Customers could see a 0.2% rate increase, but the power companies say renewable energy is projected to reduce customer rates over time.
