Graham Knight was appointed by the Calhoun County Commission to serve out the unexpired term of former sheriff J. Warren Basnett. Nathan Allison had originally been appointed to fill the term, but withdrew his name this week. Basnett resigned in April after the county prosecutor sought his removal for the alleged mishandling of firearms during a school career day event.
