Catalytic converter thefts are on the rise in West Virginia

A report from BeenVerified.com shows that catalytic converter theft is up in West Virginia. Over the course of a three-year period, the thefts have increased more than 700% in West Virginia alone. Catalytic converters are part of the vehicle’s exhaust system that helps clean the car exhaust and are usually made with precious metals. The report shows the number of catalytic converter thefts in West Virginia grew between 2019 and 2022 by a total of 712.50%. New York and New Jersey are te top states for catalytic converter thefts, according to the report.
