‘Riley’s Prom’ is well-supported in Jackson County

The Jackson County community came together for a special celebration for a Ripley student who was nearly expelled. Riley Knotts took his grandfather’s truck to school, not knowing his grandfather had left a gun in the glove box. While suspended, the 18-year-old missed his senior prom. So, Saturday night, he got to celebrate at a packed barn-themed venue. More than 200 people RSVP’d to Riley’s prom. The amount of support was so overwhelming, organizers had to move to a bigger venue. The Jackson County Community donated music, lights, and food, and Eyewitness News said the event had fourteen business sponsors.
