Senior meal programs to be impacted by the end of COVID-era funding

For the past three years, the collective group Cabell County Community Services Organizations has been able to serve meals to 75 extra seniors and 400 total a day. Eyewitness News said federal CARES Act money allowed them to get rid of waiting lists. Now the concern is about cuts as that funding runs out. Both CCCSO and the Cabell County Commission have written letters to the state asking to workshop ideas to help fill the gaps. Cuts to Cabell County would be 10% of their entire budget. The sides have until September to get something worked out.
