The Lincoln County Clerk’s Office has had to remain closed after heavy rain entered the building and impacted computers, desks and documents. Eyewitness News talked with employees who said it’s a continued problem with storms. The building has housed the assessor’s office, the circuit court and the county commission since 1964, but 10 years ago staff said they began to see issues with the roof, and it’s not getting any better. There’s no definitive plan in place to fix the issue at this point. Grant funds could come into play to help fund repairs.
