A couple accused in bank robberies spanning West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Virginia were sentenced to prison Monday. William Birdsall and Jaqueline Havens, both of Boones Mill, Va., were sentenced in connection with a series of bank robberies across the three states over an eight-month span, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia. Birdsall was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to bank robbery while Havens was sentenced to three years in prison for hiding money that was stolen. The pair is accused of targeting banks in Romney, Rupert and Fort Ashby in West Virginia. In total, prosecutors said the pair stole more than $162,000 across the three states.
