The Kanawha Garden Club recently presented bike rack barricade covers to the City of Charleston to be used during events. The move honors the memory of longtime resident and passionate gardener Sandy Thomas. The City said on its website that Thomas had seen similar bike rack barricade covers during her travels and brought the idea back home to the Kanawha Garden Club before her passing in August 2022. Sandy Thomas graduated from Marshall University with an accounting degree and built a successful 40-year career as a CPA in Charleston.
