Huntington City Mission to expand

The Huntington City Mission will expand after the Huntington City Council approved allocating $500,000 for new low-barrier housing for those in need. The federal funds were originally intended to go toward broadband development but went unspent and now the goal is to help those battling addiction with treatment and recovery. The exact plan is still being worked out, but it may include renovating a storage building to add sleeping space. Plans are also in the works for a new mental health care facility on 6th Avenue.
