Improvement plan is a work in progress for Nicholas County schools

The Nicholas County Board of Education met this week to talk about the next steps for school replacement and improvements after a budget shortfall. Last week, school officials met with state leaders at the School Building Authority, where they revealed the $72 million shortfall—ongoing from the 2016 flooding that required school replacements and improvements. The Nicholas County Board of Education said their No. 1 goal is getting the students into a secure school and out of pods. The board members met with FEMA too, to go over the next steps.
