Several counties to receive funds for school improvement projects

School improvement projects in Wayne and Mason counties will receive a share of $16 million as the School Building Authority awarded funding. Schools in Wayne County will get $1 million to add three pre-kindergarten classrooms to Wayne Elementary School. Construction could be a year away. Mason County Schools received $450-thousand for the construction of four safe schools entrances. Local school districts will chip in some of the funding for the projects. The School Building Authority will also award funds to Barbour, Monroe, Calhoun, Hardy and Tucker counties.
