A major youth soccer tournament is coming back to the region. The 2024 U.S. Youth Soccer East Region Presidents Cup will be co-hosted by the Barboursville Soccer Complex and the Shawnee Sports Complex and is expected to provide a $10 million economic impact to the Kanawha Valley. States in the youth soccer region include Connecticut, Delaware, Eastern New York, Eastern Pennsylvania, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York West, Pennsylvania West, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia. Matches will be played at both Shawnee and Barboursville in 2024 with championship games being held at Shawnee Sports Complex.
