An injured fawn was rescued Saturday during the popular Tour de Coal event. Firefighters with the Institute Fire Department said they rescued an injured and stranded fawn on the river bank. After finding the fawn, firefighters said they provided immediate medical assistance and turned it over to the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources. Firefighters said they were alerted to the fawn by Tour de Coal participants.
