West Virginia University leaders approved a 2024 fiscal budget Friday that includes a roughly 3% tuition hike and the elimination of 132 jobs. The Board of Governors approved a tuition increase that would equate to $132 a semester for undergrad in-state students and $396 a semester for out-of-state undergrad students.The reduction in staff will save roughly $7 million WVU has said it faces a $45 million deficit for the 2024 fiscal year that could worsen over a five-year period to $75 million depending on further enrollment declines and inflation.
