Record number of guns confiscated so far at Yeager Airport in in 2023

A Putnam County man was stopped with a handgun at a West Virginia International Yeager Airport checkpoint Wednesday, setting a new record for guns found. A 9mm handgun packed with two magazines totaling 11 bullets was stopped at a TSA checkpoint. The man was cited on a weapons charge. The finding sets a new record for the airport seven months into the year. The previous record high was seven in 2019.
