Nearly a year after a landslide beside the Sissonville High School stadium, engineers are looking at the problem. Students and parents told Eyewitness News the hill behind the football field has been an eyesore but they were told there’s no danger. As students had back to the classroom, the school board is heading towards agreements to get the land fixed. The landslide is more than 40 feet by 20 feet wide. The Kanawha County School Board released a statement saying they’re wrapping up construction documents with Terradon Engineering and hope to have that project out to bid in the next couple of weeks. The spokesperson also said money is allocated to fund the project.
