Civils Suits filed against Alderson Broaddus amid closure

Civil action has been brought against Alderson Broaddus University. Complaints filed in Kanawha County Circuit Court include claims of fraud, misrepresentation, breach of contract and punitive damages, naming Alderson Broaddus and Board of Trustees and Governors Chair James Garvin as defendants. A complaint filed by Alexandria Herron attempts to bring a class action lawsuit against the university and its leadership for West Virginia students enrolled in AB’s programming. A second filing by Samatha Croston raises concerns for employees. The institution voluntarily resigned its accreditation ahead of its upcoming closure.
