The new Lincoln County High School football field is almost finished. Lincoln County High School has been playing on the same field since the school opened and now they’ll transition to an all turf field. Many of the athletes have been playing on grass fields throughout middle school and high school to this point. Eyewitness News said football won’t be the only sport to benefit from the new field. Soccer, band and other sports will also get to practice on the field, and a new track is being built on the outskirts of the turf. The first home game at the end of this month will be played at the original field, and the goal is to have the new turf ready to go by the second home game on September 8.
