A man was struck by a vehicle while attempting to repair his bicycle on the west side of St. Albans. Kanawha County deputies said the 43-year-old man was riding a bicycle near John Street and Fairview Drive Tuesday evening when his bicycle chain came off and he attempted to fix it while in the roadway. A woman driving a vehicle attempted to avoid the man, who was wearing dark clothing, at the last minute to avoid crashing into him but was unsuccessful. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not charged but was cited for failing to provide proof of insurance and driving on a suspended license.
