Body found in February has been identified

Charleston police have identified a body that was found in February by a work release inmate picking up trash on Greenbrier Street just before Airport Hill. 31-year old Tamber Johnson of Falling Waters was found dead, covered by a blanket, but police do not believe her body was dumped there by another person. Police said they were recently able to identify her through DNA that was submitted in an FBI database. Lt. Tony Hazelett said the final report was not complete yet from the medical examiner’s office but preliminarily it did not show any trauma, broken bones or evidence to suggest foul play in Johnson’s death. Detectives are still working to piece together why Johnson was in the area and are asking for tips.
