Charleston city officials announced several road closures around Charleston that will be in effect this weekend. Today, (Friday, Sept. 9), Kegs 4 K-9s will be offering cold brews to support shelter pets at the Red Carpet Lounge. The event will close Elizabeth Street from Lee Street to Washington Street from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 9, the Irish Rumble 5K will celebrate 100 years of Charleston Catholic High School. The race will close down Kanawha Boulevard from Court Street to Greenbrier Street from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. The CCHS celebration continues from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will affect traffic on Dunbar Street from Kanawha Boulevard to Virginia Street East. In addition, the West Side Community Health Fair, also scheduled for Saturday, will close Kanawha Boulevard from Ohio Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue South.
