The US Department of Justice said the former Housing Director for Raleigh County has been sentenced to probation and ordered to pay more than $8,000 in restitution for a federal fraud scheme. The Raleigh County Housing Authority carried out federally funded programs when Laquenta Lowe of Beckley, was the Executive Director. Court documents say Lowe used her status within the housing authority to steal federal HUD funds. Lowe admitted to getting overtime pay that she was not entitled to, and taking money for travel-related expenses, according to court documents.
