A new West Virginia high school transfer portal rule put into effect earlier this year during the state’s legislative session has many asking questions about fairness.
As it currently stands, students are able to transfer to another high school one time without losing a year of eligibility, or even being penalized. Gov. Jim Justice said this week at a press conference that the rule is going to have to be revisited in the future to avoid having five or seven ‘superteams’ in the state.
