The Charleston Police Department responded to a stabbing call at 1105 Quarrier Street just after 1 p.m. Sunday. Officers located Jackie Cummings of Duck, West Virginia, was found with a stab wound when officer arrived. Officers said Cummings was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Officers said Cummings started fighting with an individual inside of the Manna Meal soup kitchen, which operates inside St. John’s Episcopal Church. Cummings and the other individual were asked to leave the property and an altercation happened outside. No charges will be filed. The case will now be handed over to the Kanawha County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
