Williamson Police Dept. sees turnover

The mayor of Williamson is serving as the interim police chief until a replacement can be found. Williamson Mayor Charles Hatfield was appointed by city council to serve as the interim police chief after chief J.C. Dotson resigned. The Williamson Police Department now has six officers. One is on medical leave and two officers were just sworn in at the same city council meeting last Thursday. Both will need to attend the academy and pass before officially patrolling.
