Peak fall viewing season is here, according to fall foliage report

West Virginia’s panhandles and the southwest portion of the state are set to enjoy peak fall foliage in late October and early November. Kanawha State Forest has more than 60 miles of trails along with picnic areas, playgrounds, campsites and prime opportunities to observe the colors. The New River Gorge National Park and Preserve encompasses more than 70,000 acres of wilderness along the New River and has hiking, camping, biking, climbing and whitewater rafting. Also in southern West Virginia, the Hatfield-McCoy Trails offer ATV enthusiasts the chance to explore more than 1,000 miles of trail divided among systems.
