A St. Albans man faces several charges after he allegedly struck a trooper and led law enforcement on a chase Thursday in Boone County. Russell Lee Gillenwater faces several charges after leading officres on a chase after a traffic stop. Troopers said the vehicle eventually crashed and Gillenwater began fleeing on foot and allegedly resisted while being taken into custody. During a search of Gillenwater’s vehicle, troopers said drugs and drug paraphernalia were found.
Gillenwater was taken to a local hospital for a blood draw and then transported to Southwestern Regional Jail.
