Janna Hamrick, a fifth grade teacher at Rock Branch Elementary, was presented with a Milken Educator Award and a $25,000 cash prize at a school assembly on Wednesday. The prestigious Milken Educator Awards seek out early to mid-career teachers to celebrate their achievements. The organization’s vice president Stephanie Bishop joined Gov. Jim Justice and State Superintendent Michele Blatt to recognize Hamrick’s efforts. Ashley Wilkins-Franks was also recognized with a Milken Educator Award in Grant County.
