A rash of WVU breakins are under investigation

West Virginia University officials have issued a campus warning after recent burglary reports. University police said they received a report on Nov. 21 of a burglary along Spruce Street where multiple items, including two laptops, were stolen. Five days later, police received a burglary report along Waverly Street where a victim reported the residence was ransacked over Thanksgiving break. Items including a Playstation 5 and laptop were stolen. That same day, another resident along Belmar Avenue reported a similar break-in where various items, including an Xbox and Playstation were stolen. University police said no suspects have been identified in the investigations. Officers have increased patrols in the area.
