One person was killed in an apartment fire Tuesday morning in Mingo County. It happened at the Creekwood Apartments near the town of Red Jacket, according to the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office. A woman who was inside the apartment at the time died and a man was able to get out. Deputies said the apartment was destroyed by the blaze, but the rest of the building was not affected. The Mingo County Sheriff’s Office and West Virginia State Fire Marshals are investigating.
