JROTC program includes students on many different career paths

The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) is often known to those who see themselves joining the military, but instructors at Riverside High School said this class is for everyone and prepares students for leadership roles after graduation. Eyewitness News said Riverside’s JROTC program includes seven classes with roughly 200 students, according to senior Army instructor Maj. Bryan Murphy and less than 5% of enrolled students ever serve in the military. It’s about gaining skills that will lead to success in the furture in any career, according to program leaders. Students at within the program develop character, leadership and everyday life skills.
