The governor wants to preserve the South Charleston mail processing center

Governor Jim Justice is urging the US Post Master General to reconsider closing its South Charleston distribution and processing center. The governor said this week on social media that he sent a letter to the U.S. Post Master General, Louis DeJoy, concerned about the facility’s 800 employees and their families. If the center closes, operations would move to Pittsburgh or Warrendale, Pennsylvania. The governor said in a letter to the Post Master General that the presence of this distribution facility is integral to the state’s economic prosperity and growth. The USPS is conducting an active study to see if it makes sense to close down the plant, and public input will be considered.
