The man accused in a double murder investigation in Charleston has an extensive history of criminal charges dating back nearly two decades. Court records show Nicholas Hanshaw is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with an adult woman and young child who were found dead Tuesday in the 1500 block of Dorchester Road. Police said Hanshaw showed up at an area dealership on Tuesday attempting to get a car and claiming to have allegedly killed two people. When officers arrived at the address provided by Hanshaw, they found the two bodies.Kanawha County court records show charges dating back as far as 2005. Charges over the years include domestic assault and brandishing. Hanshaw successfully completed a pretrial diversion program in June 2023.
