Gov. Jim Justice appointed one of his cabinet secretaries as a circuit court judge in Kanawha County. David Hardy was appointed to the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court, filling the seat left by Joanna Tabit, who died in September, according to a news release from the governor’s office. Hardy previously served as cabinet secretary of the West Virginia Department of Revenue in January 2017. He also serves as the Governor’s designee on the Municipal Home Rule, Investment Management, and the Board of Treasury Investments Boards. The governor also announced Wednesday Larry Pack has been appointed as acting secretary of revenue to fill the seat opened by Hardy’s resignation.
