Joyful Night celebration is set for December 5

A Joyful Night is planned for next week. A 50-foot Balsam Fir from Kumbrabow State Forest in Randolph County was selected to adorn the West Virginia State Capitol Complex, according to a news release from the Governor’s Office. The West Virginia Division of Forestry, the General Services Division and Division of Highways all helped to harvest the tree and place it near the south steps of the Capitol. A tree-lighting ceremony has been scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 5 starting at 6 p.m. at Lincoln Plaza on Tuesday. The event will be streamed on the governor’s Twitter account and Facebook page.
