West Virginia’s ski resorts are opening this month

There are five ski resorts across West Virginia, and the first two are open now. Snowshoe in Pocahontas County, and Timberline in Tucker County opened for the season last Saturday. Winterplace in Raleigh County and Canaan Valley in Tucker County will open in mid-December, and Oglebay Resort in Ohio County plans to open during the Christmas holiday week. The state’s ski resorts are credited with generating about $250 million for the economy every year.
