Man who hit a WV State Police cruiser was allegedly under the influence

A man faces several charges after he was accused of crashing into a West Virginia State Police cruiser while driving under the influence. Kanawha County court records said Teddy Ray Linville of Eskdale is charged with fleeing the scene of a crash and DUI among other charges.Troopers said they were patrolling Cabin Creek Road early Sunday when Linville’s vehicle crashed into a trooper’s cruiser head-on. Linville is accused of fleeing the area before stopping near Eskdale. Troopers said Linville smelled of alcohol and showed signs of impairment when he was taken into custody. The trooper that was struck during the incident is expected to be OK.
